Caring for your bundle of joy
Central to our early intervention model is community integration. Our early intervention services are now delivered entirely in community settings, and more than 80 percent of the pre-school children we serve attend local schools.
We are the largest provider of community-based services for children with developmental disabilities in Westchester County. Our team of specialists includes teachers, speech pathologists, physical and occupational therapists and certified social workers. We are recognized as a leader of inclusive classroom standards and were the first pre-school in the county to offer inclusion classes for children with autism.
The Children’s School for Early Development provides educational, social, and support services for children, from birth to five years of age, and their families.
The Children's School for Early Development charges no fees and is partially funded by New York State and Westchester County. We rely on the generosity of private donors to run many of our innovative and highly regarded pre-school services.
Full Inclusion Parent - Child Programs
Full inclusion parent-child programs take place in pre-schools throughout Westchester County. A parent-child support group meets monthly at The Children’s School main site in Hawthorne to share concerns, information and support, and to enjoy family playtime.
