On Thursday, September 7, residents of Chappaqua and supporters of Arc of Westchester gathered for a reception in the Chappaqua Library Gallery to view and discuss the current art exhibit, “In the Moment.” The exhibit features works by talented artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities that participate in gallery265, our creative arts program.

Chappaqua Library Gallery Curator Larry D’Amico collaborated with gallery265 to bring 14 professional quality art works by 13 artists. Steve Yellen, Arc of Westchester’s Assistant Executive Director of Innovations and Community Development, and Rita Ross, Chappaqua Resident and Arc of Westchester board member, were responsible for initiating the collaboration.

Richard Swierat, Executive Director, Arc of Westchester, commented to those in attendance that, “the purpose of gallery265 is to offer people with disabilities an equal opportunity to develop their artistic talents and show their work alongside other artists in communities like Chappaqua.”

“In the Moment” will be on exhibit through September 23.
