Posted on : 11/16/2018
LEICC Workshop

The Local Early Intervention Coordinating Council (LEICC) is an advisory body comprised of Early Intervention providers, parents, advocates, academics and representatives of other child-serving City agencies. We are proud to announce that  Ann-Marie Sabrsula, M.A., VB/ABA Education Coordinator from The Children’s School for Early Development, headed up a workshop for parents and early intervention providers entitled “The Parent Perspective: Understanding and Embracing the Experience of Raising a Child with Autism.”

This workshop took place at The Westchester Library System Headquarters in Elmsford. It looked at what research is telling us about the effects that having a child with autism has on the whole family structure and what we can do as early intervention providers to support parents at this critical period of time.  There were two short documentaries and a parent panel who have children of varying ages diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. They shared their personal journeys.

This training was offered in collaboration with the Children’s School for Early Development and the Westchester County Department of Health Local Early Intervention Coordinating Council LEICC Training and Evaluation Services workgroup. If you wish to receive more information about these workshops, email [email protected].
