Tibi Guzmán Named a Leading Woman in Business by 914INC. Magazine

The Arc Westchester is thrilled to announce that our Executive Director and CEO Tibisay (Tibi) Guzmán has been named one of 914INC.’s 2018 Women in Business! The annual list highlights the most accomplished, influential and inspirational female executives, entrepreneurs and government and nonprofit leaders in Westchester County. Tibi was chosen from a competitive pool of nominees and will be recognized alongside her fellow honorees at the magazine’s annual awards luncheon on November 15.

Tibi replaced Executive Director Ric Swierat earlier this year, upon his retirement following more than 35 years in the role. While her professional background is in Health Care Administration, Tibi has personal experience with I/DD as the parent of a son with Autism. She truly brings her own unique style, experience and confidence to her new position.

Prior to her new role, Tibi spent 13 years as Associate Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer. During this time, she oversaw various areas of our organization, including programs to enhance life skills and Career Supports services, as well as the Wellness Center for Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services. As COO, she oversaw an operating budget of $56 million for services from early intervention/preschool through to adulthood. She has also been instrumental in building relationships with new organizations, attracting new job hosts for our employment program and expanding our inclusionary preschool program.

Tibi has been a driving force in the success of our organization and the expansion of our programs and services. She is a role model to other women both internally and externally and is an excellent example of how a mission-driven leader can make an impact on the community, an organization and its stakeholders. We look forward to celebrating Tibi and her fellow honorees at the 914INC. Women in Business luncheon next week!
