Job Title:  ACCOUNTANT

Location: Hawthorne 

Job Description: Audit work papers and schedules for the CFR (Consolidated Fiscal Report). Review, test and maintain procedural manuals. P & L variance analysis, Rate Sheet/Funding analysis and maintain the monthly

budgets in the Advanced Budgeting management system. Responsibilities will also include process billing for various programs. Perform research, follow-up and re-bill claims to obtain payment.

Job Title: ASSISTANT RESIDENCE MANAGER

Job Description: Assist supervisors in overseeing all aspects of the residential program and all direct care staff. Ensures the residents’ physical, social, emotional, communication, safety, and independent living needs are properly addressed and all policies and regulations are adhered to in the residence. Job Title: EXECUTIVE OFFICE MANAGER/ EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Job Description: The Executive Office Manager/Executive Assistant manages relationship and work with the Board of Directors and Executive Director’s office. He/ She disseminates information, manages communication with the administrative cabinet, communication between the executive director’s office and staff.  Develops follow-up processes for on-going work in the Executive Director’s office, and directs special projects given by the Executive Director and/or Associate Executive Director. The Executive Office Manager/ Executive Assistant represents the office of the Executive Director before the public, initiates with the Executive Director meetings with other State ARCs, and carries out special and general assignments regarding preparation and development of various agency activities. This position also formulates and develops operating practices and processes, and supervises the agency mailroom and reception area. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications or related field is preferred. Job Title: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Job Description: Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day activities of the Agency. He or she will work closely with the Board of Directors to develop the strategic direction of the organization, will be responsible to funders and help expand fundraising through our Foundation, and provide overall leadership and support to all our staff. The position of Executive Director is a critical, visible position requiring strong management experience, business and financial acumen, demonstrated fundraising ability, and a successful track record of working with government and nonprofit organizations providing social services. The Executive Director must be a highly intelligent self-starter who shares the Board’s commitment to the Agency’s core mission.  He or she must have the power and presence to advocate successfully and passionately on behalf of the individuals and families in the public and private sectors.   In addition, the Executive Director should be highly knowledgeable, flexible and entrepreneurial in dealing with the challenges of changes in the delivery of services and government priorities and have the ability to adapt to change as needed to foster the growth of the organization.  The Executive Director should also have the experience and knowledge of the unique issues that affect individuals with I/DD and their families.

Dynamic, inspirational, compassionate, excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills are critical.  The Executive Director must be comfortable and tactful in communicating with the individuals that we support and the families as well as corporate executives, local business leaders, elected officials, public agency administrators, school district leaders and the community.  He or she must be able to work with the Board and staff in a transparent, honest fashion that promotes inclusiveness, cooperation and teamwork.  In addition, he or she will be bright, diplomatic, analytical, creative, of the highest integrity, and possess sound judgment.

The position requires a Master’s degree in business/management, finance and /or health and human services. Experience should include at least ten (10) years of increasingly responsible executive management experience including, but not limited to the following critical areas: strategic leadership, financial management, and organizational resourcing experience, preferably in a community action agency or similar agency supporting people with I/DD. Management experience with specialized background in planning, budgeting, programming, procurement, management and technical expertise in administering federal and state grant funding. Knowledge of New York OPWDD, SED, Department of Health and other regulatory agencies’ laws and regulations.

 

Job Title: HUMAN RESOURCES INTERN – PT - Temporary

Location: Hawthorne

Job Description: Assist the Human Resources Department with recruiting of Direct Support Professionals. Responsibilities include screening resumes, setting up appointments for group interviews, employment verifications and references, and general clerical duties. This internship will consist of 21 hours per week for a total of 12 weeks. Requires a High School Diploma/ GED. Candidate should be pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. Some clerical experience preferred.

Job Title: PSYCHOLOGIST/ BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST, QIDP

Job Description: Provide direct clinical and QIDP services in assigned residential programs; including developing,writing and revising IRA residential habilitation plans, ICF treatment programs, assessments, person-centered planning, and counseling. Develop, implement, monitor and revise behavioral treatment plans utilizing positive approaches and functional assessments. Conduct observations, review data and progress, and develop and revise treatment programs based on assessments. Requires Master’s degree in Psychology and exceeds 671.6 HCBS Waiver Community Residential Habilitation Services. At least one (1) year of experience working directly with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

 

QIDP RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM COORDINATOR (2)

LOCATION: Mamaroneck and Briarcliff 

Job Description: The QIDP Residential Program Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Clinical Team Leader and will manage operations and complete QIDP responsibilities for assigned residential programs. Management responsibilities include: The supervision of Assistant Manager and other DSP staff, ensuring the physical, social, and emotional needs of the people that live in the house are met and maintain a safe environment. As QIDP, will be responsible for the development, implementation and revision of residential habilitation plans, Individualized Plans of Protective Oversight (IPOP) and monthly notes for all people living in the homes. This include the oversight of the implementation of the plans, data collection and training the DSP staff on all new and revised plans. Requires Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or related Human Services field.  OR a minimum of 7 years experience as a QIDP. Master’s degree preferred. At least two(2) years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). At least 5 years experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities. 

 

Job Title: RECREATION ASSISTANT

Job Description: Responsible to supervise and assist teens and adults on a scheduled recreation/respite activity. Requires a valid NYS Driver’s License. HS Diploma/GED preferred. This is a seasonal position, June through August.

Acts as a resource to Nursing Supervisor and administration regarding health care issues. Requires Graduation from an accredited college or university nursing program, Bachelor’s degree preferred; current NYS license as a Professional Registered Nurse; experience working as a nurse in OPWDD approved program preferred.

 

Job Title: SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST

Location: County Wide

Job Description: Develop and monitor comprehensive program for full day children. Administer psychological evaluations. Plan and collaborate with staff for full day preschool classes. Assist social worker in intake process, parents’ visits, family contacts and communication. Provide parent education workshops. Requires Permanent NYS Certification in School Psychology, knowledge of Autism/PPD and principal methods for teaching.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with children, staff and families.

Job Description: The Children's School has several collaborative inclusion classes located in

community early childhood settings for preschool students with a disability.  We are seeking a certified special education teacher, experienced working with young children with developmental delays and disabilities.  In addition to classroom management, curriculum development and lesson planning to design activities that meet the IEP goals for students, this position requires communication with parents, school districts and other professional clinicians, working on a collaborative team. Requires Master’s degree in Special Education or related field and direct experience working in an educational setting with young children with developmental disabilities, specifically preschoolers with autism spectrum disorder. NYS Certification for Special Education Teacher and BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) are required. Knowledge of principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (specifically that of Verbal Behavior).

Participates in completing and updating the Comprehensive Functional Assessment. Provide in service training to staff as needed/requested and or assigned. Must have car and NYS drivers’ license. Must have considerable knowledge of OPWDD regulations. Professional- Graduation from an accredited College or University with a Bachelors or Masters degree in Speech Pathology. Licensed and currently registered as a speech Pathologist by New York State Department of Education as a person eligible for licensure by virtue of holding a certificate of clinical competence.
