Job Title: ASSOCIATE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/COO

Location: Hawthorne

Job Description: The Associate Executive Director/COO reports to and works closely with the Executive Director in overseeing all operational aspects of the organization. As the Chief Operating Officer of the agency, the Associate Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all programs and services to supported individuals. The position is responsible to provide the leadership, management and vision to ensure the organization has the proper operational controls, administrative, and resources in place to sustain and grow the programs and to ensure high performance, financial strength and operating efficiency. This position will have direct responsibility for ensuring the success of Residential and Day Services, Educational Services, Innovations and Community Development, Clinical Services and actively collaborate with Finance, Human Resources, Quality Improvement and Staff Development.

Specific duties will also include guiding and supporting all programs and services and effectively engaging with all program stakeholders. Lead a high-performing team of senior staff to the next level by further developing and implementing cutting-edge recruitment, training, retention, and succession planning strategies. Oversees the development and monitoring of the organization’s operating budget. Works with the Executive Director/CEO on developing and implementing the organization’s strategic plan and related new service initiatives. Represents the agency on local, state, and national levels as needed. Participate in fundraising initiatives and work closely with The Arc Foundation staff to expand and extend contributions. Participate in advocacy efforts, interpreting, and influencing relevant public policy. Assist the Executive Director/CEO in developing partnerships with other service providers. Assist in the development of innovative and creative services responsive to the interest and needs of people with developmental disabilities. Assist in development of new funding streams, public and private. Assist in the development of formal connections with local government, businesses and educational entities. Serve as the ambassador for all programs and operations and represents the Executive Director in her absence. 

The ideal candidate is required to have a Master’s degree in the Human/Health Care Service or related field. A significant record of accomplishment of 10 years or more in progressive human/health services experience, including clearly demonstrated senior leadership operating multiple services programs while sustaining financial strength and operating efficiency. Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading diverse work teams, developing an organization-wide strategy for program excellence, engaging community partners, and partnering with the CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors. Ability to provide tangible examples of excellence in program analytics, measurement, and evaluation. Proven track record of demonstrated integrity, excellence in work, and leading others to new levels of innovation, value, effectiveness, and programmatic impact. 

 

Job Title: BEHAVIOR SERVICES SPECIALIST 

Location:  Hawthorne

The Arc Westchester is currently seeking a motivated Behavior Specialist who is looking for opportunities to grow his or her professional career and make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to join our team. This full time (35 hrs/week, benefits included) position will join the residential department’s clinical team.  As a leading social services agency in Westchester County, New York, The Arc Westchester supports more than 2,000 individuals with IDD (Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities) through a broad range of innovative and effective programs and services designed to foster independence, productivity, and participation in community life.

The Behavior Specialist is responsible for completing functional behavior assessments, developing behavior support plans, training staff on the implementation of behavior support plans and procedures, and working with an interdisciplinary team (e.g., nurses, nutritionists, family members) to best meet the needs of the person receiving services. Additionally, the Behavior Specialist will be responsible for providing training to employees in the areas of applied behavior analysis and helping advance The Arc Westchester’s strategic initiatives as they relate to behavioral services.  Primarily working in the field, the Behavior Specialist receives ongoing training, is supported, and clinically supervised by a doctoral-level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D).  Requires at least a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a clinical and/or treatment field of psychology and documented
training in assessment techniques and behavior support plan development Requires at least one-year experience working with people with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities Actively pursuing or current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred
 

Job Title: COMMUNITY CHOICES INSTRUCTOR – 2 positions

Location: Hawthorne 

Job Description:Develop and implement community-based programming/ integration in accordance with the Individual’s needs, preferences and desires as per their Individual Service and Habilitation Plan.  Maintain health and safety standards. Position will specifically work within the “Choices” Without Walls program. Staff may be required to operate a wheelchair accessible vehicle. Requires H.S Diploma, NYS Driver’s License, successful completion of OPWDD approved CPR/first aid certification.

Job Title: CONTRACT PSYCHIATRIST – P/T

Location: Hawthorne

Job Description: Under the supervision of the Agency Medical Director, the Part-Time, Contract Psychiatrist will assess and provide psychiatric treatment for adults with developmental disabilities and psychiatric conditions.  The psychiatrist works in conjunction with all internal and external care team members. Schedule: 7-10 hours per week. Job Requirements: Board Certified and Licensed Psychiatrist in NYS;Clinical experience working with adults who are dually diagnosed or a strong interest in working with this population; Professional credentials should be current as dictated by the State licensing standards and Professional Licensing Board.

Job Description: Assist the Human Resources Department with recruiting of Direct Support Professionals. Responsibilities include screening resumes, setting up appointments for group interviews, employment verifications and references, and general clerical duties. This internship will consist of 21 hours per week for a total of 12 weeks. Requires a High School Diploma/ GED. Candidate should be pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. Some clerical experience preferred.

Job Title: QUALITY IMPROVEMENT SPECIALIST

Job Description: This position has the responsibility for delivering the Quality Improvement functions for the agency. This staff will perform the ongoing monitoring of the agency quality improvement functions as well as special investigations and other projects that may be required. In addition, this position will have responsibility and involvement in the incident reporting process and may be required to perform investigations periodically. This position will provide advisory guidance and technical assistance to program staff in the area of regulations and procedures. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Health or Human Services is required. However the bachelor's degree could be substituted at the discretion of the agency if there are other factors that adequately compensate for this difference, such as experience in the field of developmental disabilities including experience in the area of quality improvement and/or compliance. community early childhood settings for preschool students with a disability.  We are seeking a certified special education teacher, experienced working with young children with developmental delays and disabilities.  In addition to classroom management, curriculum development and lesson planning to design activities that meet the IEP goals for students, this position requires communication with parents, school districts and other professional clinicians, working on a collaborative team. Requires Master’s degree in Special Education or related field and direct experience working in an educational setting with young children with developmental disabilities, specifically preschoolers with autism spectrum disorder. NYS Certification for Special Education Teacher and BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) are required. Knowledge of principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (specifically that of Verbal Behavior).

Job Description: Provides diagnostic, evaluative and therapeutic services for a broad spectrum of speech disorders for children with developmental disabilities. Participates in completing and updating the Comprehensive Functional Assessment. Provide in service training to staff as needed/requested and or assigned. Must have car and NYS drivers’ license. Must have considerable knowledge of OPWDD regulations. Professional- Graduation from an accredited College or University with a Bachelors or Masters degree in Speech Pathology. Licensed and currently registered as a speech Pathologist by New York State Department of Education as a person eligible for licensure by virtue of holding a certificate of clinical competence.

 

Job Title: TREATMENT COORDINATOR/SUB-DRIVER         

Location:  Yonkers          

Job Description: Develop, coordinate and implement consumer habilitation plans in accordance with their Individual Service Plan or Comprehensive Functional Assessment.  Overall supervision of assigned staff including ensuring all required documentation is accurate and completed in a timely fashion. Assure maintenance of health and safety standards within facility including adequate staff coverage and physical plant and has the responsibility of transporting consumers to and from program on an ongoing substitute basis. Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in a related field, minimum one-year experience with DD population and a valid NYS Driver’s License. Supervisory experience preferred.
