This full time (35 hrs/week, benefits included) position will join the residential department’s clinical team.  As a leading social services agency in Westchester County, New York, The Arc Westchester supports more than 2,000 individuals with IDD (Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities) through a broad range of innovative and effective programs and services designed to foster independence, productivity, and participation in community life.

The Behavior Specialist is responsible for completing functional behavior assessments, developing behavior support plans, training staff on the implementation of behavior support plans and procedures, and working with an interdisciplinary team (e.g., nurses, nutritionists, family members) to best meet the needs of the person receiving services. Job Description: The primary responsibility of the Community Living Support Professional is to teach skills and behaviors to maximize independence in activities of daily living and in a variety of community settings for a small caseload of persons who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and other special needs who live in a The Arc Westchester, NEXT for NEIGHBORS residence. The purpose of this position is to promote individuals’ health, wellbeing, and safety as well as their interests, rights and choices. Based upon the individuals’ needs and service plans, the NEXT for NEIGHBORS Community Living Support Professional provides training, guidance, counseling, direction, assistance and support to the individuals and advocates on their behalf. Requires a High School Diploma/GED, Associates Degree in Human Services or related field is preferred. Requires a valid NYS Driver’s License and at least one year experience working with children or adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities. One year of similar human services experience may be substituted, such as work in the fields of child welfare or mental health or alcoholism/drug misuse. Job Title: CONTRACT PSYCHIATRIST – P/T

Job Description: Under the supervision of the Agency Medical Director, the Part-Time, Contract Psychiatrist will assess and provide psychiatric treatment for adults with developmental disabilities and psychiatric conditions.  The psychiatrist works in conjunction with all internal and external care team members. This is achieved by ensuring compliance with various state/federal regulations and with The Arc Westchester’s adaptation of the Professional Family Teaching Model. This position manages all services and activities occurring in their assigned program location and supervises Community Living Support Professionals. Job Description: Responsible for the prevocational needs of individuals or small groups of individuals with disabilities to include those in Prevocational and State Services.  Provide services in accordance with their needs, preferences and desires as per their Individual Service Plan (ISP) and Habilitation Plan.  Develops and writes Individualized Prevocational Plans.   Identifies maximum level of development for each individual and assist them in reaching the desired level.  Maintains case records in compliance with the Arc of Westchester, OPWDD, and Medicaid regulations.  Writes all required reports and provides counseling to individuals and their families.  Attends and participates in ISP meetings for assigned Individuals. Requires HS diploma, a valid NYS Driver’s License, one (1) year experience working with DD population and basic computer skills including MS Office Word. BA Degree in Human Services or related field is preferred.

Job Description: The RN/LPN will work to support individuals in summer programs and other recreational programs as needed by the department. This position requires medication dispensing, monitoring and managing emergent illness and injury during program time. The RN/LPN must be able to take blood pressure, temperature, pulse as necessary. Require current NYS license as a Practical Nurse and 1-2 years of experience in the field; experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.

 

Job Title: QIDP RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Location: Bedford                          

Job Description: The QIDP Residential Program Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Clinical Team Leader and will manage operations and complete QIDP responsibilities for assigned residential programs. Management responsibilities include the supervision of Assistant Manager and other DSP staff, ensuring the physical, social, and emotional needs of the people that live in the house are met and maintain a safe environment. As QIDP, will be responsible for the development, implementation and revision of residential habilitation plans, Individualized Plans of Protective Oversight (IPOP) and monthly notes for all people living in the homes. This includes the oversight of the implementation of the plans, data collection and training the DSP staff on all new and revised plans. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or related Human Services field.  OR a minimum of 7years experience as a QIDP. Master’s degree preferred. At least two(2) years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). At least 5 years experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities.

community early childhood settings for preschool students with a disability.  We are seeking a certified special education teacher, experienced working with young children with developmental delays and disabilities.  In addition to classroom management, curriculum development and lesson planning to design activities that meet the IEP goals for students, this position requires communication with parents, school districts and other professional clinicians, working on a collaborative team. Requires Master’s degree in Special Education or related field and direct experience working in an educational setting with young children with developmental disabilities, specifically preschoolers with autism spectrum disorders. NYS Certification for Special Education Teacher and BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) are required. Knowledge of principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (specifically that of Verbal Behavior).

Job Description: Provides diagnostic, evaluative and therapeutic services for a broad spectrum of speech disorders for children with developmental disabilities. Participates in completing and updating the Comprehensive Functional Assessment. Provide in-service training to staff as needed/requested and or assigned. Must have car and NYS drivers’ license. Must have considerable knowledge of OPWDD regulations. Professional- Graduation from an accredited College or University with a Bachelors or Masters degree in Speech Pathology. Licensed and currently registered as a Speech Pathologist by New York State Department of Education as a person eligible for licensure by virtue of holding a certificate of clinical competence.

 

Job Title: TREATMENT COORDINATOR/SUB-DRIVER         

Location: Peekskill

Job Description: Develop, coordinate and implement consumer habilitation plans in accordance with their Individual Service Plan or Comprehensive Functional Assessment.  Overall supervision of assigned staff including ensuring all required documentation is accurate and completed in a timely fashion. Assure maintenance of health and safety standards within the facility including adequate staff coverage and physical plant and has the responsibility of transporting consumers to and from the program on an ongoing substitute basis. Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in a related field, minimum one-year experience with DD population and a valid NYS Driver’s License. Supervisory experience preferred.
